Donations are the life blood of every Goodwill. Your generous donations of gently used clothing and accessories; housewares and decor; small electronics like radios, lamps and clocks; DVDs, CDs, and records; vehicles; computers, printers, and flat screen monitors; and monetary donations directly support the services and programs we provide to give others a hand-up through the power of work. That is the Goodwill mission, and your donations make it all possible. We thank you.
Clean out your closets, basements and attics by donating to Goodwill. We are more than happy to take items you no longer want, need, or have room for off your hands. There are many ways to support Goodwill’s mission of assisting others. You can donate your gently used items at one of our many central Illinois Goodwill donation centers or make a financial contribution – both are tax deductible in most cases!

Acceptable and Unacceptable Donations
When you drop off your donations at Goodwill, you’ll receive a receipt from a donation attendant. Hang on to this receipt – at the end of the year, you can claim a tax deduction for clothing and household items that are in good condition. The U.S. Internal Revenue Service requires you to value your donation when filing your return. These lists are to be used as guidelines. There may be other items not listed that we can use in the stores or which must be turned down due to size, condition or suitability.
Attention Donors: We certainly appreciate your generous donations, but please understand our Donation Attendants are not allowed inside your vehicle or truck bed. For the safety of our Attendants and your vehicle large items, such as furniture, must be unloaded by the donor at the donation door. Fill out this short form to receive your donation receipt via email (please check your spam or junk folder).
Dumping is illegal – violators will be prosecuted.

Computer Recycling
Goodwill raises money for our mission program with every pound of e-waste you drop off at one of our donation centers. Your e-waste donation not only does good for the environment, it will do good for your community.
Your old computers and computer peripherals may not have much value in your garage or basement, but at Goodwill they do. Through our partnership with Dell Reconnect, used and broken computer equipment can be dropped off at any Goodwill to be recycled and not placed in landfills.
Acceptable computer equipment you can donate includes desktop and laptop computers, monitors, printers, ink and toner cartridges, keyboards, mice, speakers, external hard drives, power cords, USB drives, servers and computer software CDs.
Dell Reconnect Program
To help address the rising challenges around e-waste, Dell Technologies and Goodwill®, have partnered up to offer Dell Reconnect. This partnership provides a free and convenient way to recycle used tech while helping people in our communities receive skills training and job opportunities.
Financial Donations
Since 1938 Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries has served those in central Illinois with disabilities, veterans and others seeking employment and career development skills. In 2017 our Mission impacted the lives of nearly 8,000 people in search of career training, 65 individuals with intellectual disabilities, more than 200 at risk youth, 570 warrior veterans, and our recycling program diverted 5,000 tons of salvage and electronics from local landfills. But there are so many others in search of a hand-up. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support our Mission and the programs we offer free of charge. Ninety cents of every dollar donated goes go directly to serving others.
Please consider including Goodwill in your Estate Planning activities. The Pension Protection Act of 2006 also provides methods for contributing a portion of your IRA savings without tax penalty or early withdrawal fees. Discuss these options with your financial planner or accountant.
